On 5 September 2024, Vyšniauskas was officially named a suspect and questioned by the Special Investigation Service (STT) as part of the “Čekiukų” municipal expenses case, being presented with suspicions of abuse of office, fraud, and document forgery.

On 14 November 2024, the Kaunas Regional Prosecutor’s Office transferred Vyšniauskas’s case to court, formally indicting him on charges of abuse of office, fraud, and document forgery in the “Čekiukų” municipal expenses scandal.
