Jurgita Sejonienė was born on 19 April 1981 in Kėdainiai, Lithuania.
She is married.
She speaks English and Russian.
In 2010, she earned a Diploma in Medical Radiology from Vilnius University.
In 2005, she received a Diploma in Medicine from Kaunas University of Medicine (now the Lithuanian University of Health Sciences).
In 1999, she graduated from Atžalyno Secondary School in Kėdainiai.
From 2013 to 2017 she worked as a radiologist at the private clinic UAB Kardiolita.
From 2010 to 2020, she worked as a radiologist at the private medical company UAB Affidea Lietuva.
She also served as a radiologist at Vilnius University Hospital Santaros Klinikos (Radiology and Nuclear Medicine Centre) between 2010 and 2020.
In 2010–2011, she was a radiologist at the Nuclear Medicine Department of the National Cancer Institute.
Jurgita Sejonienė is a board-certified medical doctor specializing in radiology and nuclear medicine.
In 2009–2010, she served as a junior doctor in the Radiology Department of Vilnius City Clinical Hospital.
During 2007–2010, she was a junior doctor at the Centre of Radiology and Nuclear Medicine in Santaros Klinikos (Vilnius University Hospital).
From 2005 to 2008, she worked as a medical doctor in the Emergency Department of the Kėdainiai Primary Health Care Centre.
She is a member of the Homeland Union – Lithuanian Christian Democrat Political Group (parliamentary faction) in the Seimas.
On 2024-12-10, she was sworn in as a Member of the Seimas for the 2024–2028 parliamentary term.
In October 2023, Sejonienė introduced amendments to Lithuania’s Law on Organ Donation and Transplantation to change the organ donor consent model from an opt-in ("informed consent") system to an opt-out ("presumed consent") system, sparking public debate.
She serves as the chairperson of the Homeland Union–Lithuanian Christian Democrats party’s Kėdainiai district branch.
She served as a member of the 13th Seimas of the Republic of Lithuania (2020–2024).
She became a member of the Homeland Union – Lithuanian Christian Democrats (TS-LKD) political party in 2018.
She is a member of the Seimas Committee on Health Affairs (appointed on 10 December 2024).
She serves as a member of the Seimas Commission for Suicide and Violence Prevention (from 10 December 2024).
In the 2024 parliamentary elections, she again obtained a Seimas seat through the party’s list (proportional representation).
Following the 2024 elections, she returned to the Seimas by obtaining a mandate through her party’s list.
She ran for Kėdainiai district mayor in the March 2023 municipal elections, but finished in 6th place (of 7 candidates) with only about 3.7% of the vote.
In the 2020 parliamentary elections, the Homeland Union (TS-LKD) won 23 seats in the nationwide multi-member constituency with about 24.8% of the vote, and Sejonienė was among those elected via the party list.
In the October 2020 parliamentary elections, Sejonienė was elected to the Seimas via the TS-LKD’s nationwide party list (multi-member constituency) rather than a single-member district.
In the October 2020 parliamentary elections, Sejonienė entered the Seimas as one of the new conservative MPs via the party’s multi-member (nationwide list) ballot. She was among nine first-time TS-LKD candidates who won seats through the party list, as opposed to single-member constituencies.
In the 2020 parliamentary elections, she was elected to the Seimas via the Homeland Union’s party list (proportional representation).
Following a parliamentary pay reform in late 2024, Jurgita Sejonienė’s monthly salary as a rank-and-file Seimas member rose to about €3,781 net (approximately €5,293 gross) per month.
As a rank-and-file Seimas member during 2020–2024, her official base salary was approximately €2,183 per month net (around €3,400 gross) before a pay reform increased MPs’ salaries in late 2024.

On 2023-03-28, 42 opposition MPs initiated an impeachment motion against Sejonienė, alleging that she misused another MP’s identity card to register a speaker, thus violating the Constitution and her oath.
In 2020, as deputy leader of the Lithuanian Medical Movement, she warned that doctors’ issues could be lost among many government working groups.
