Laurynas Kasčiūnas yra Lietuvos politikas, Seimo narys nuo 2016 m., priklausantis Tėvynės sąjungos-Lietuvos krikščionių demokratų frakcijai. Jis turi politologijos daktaro laipsnį, dėstė Vilniaus universitete, vadovavo Rytų Europos studijų centrui. Nuo 2024 m. kovo iki gruodžio buvo krašto apsaugos ministras. 2025 m. vasario mėn. išrinktas TS-LKD partijos pirmininku. In 2022, a coalition of human rights organizations petitioned the Seimas Commission for Ethics and Procedures to examine Kasčiūnas’ remarks about migrants from the Middle East and Africa (he said they come from cultures where the value of children is by no means high and that they manipulate them), arguing his statements were dehumanizing.
