He joined the Democratic faction “Vardan Lietuvos” in the Seimas when it was first established on September 10, 2021.
Griškevičius became a member of the Seimas (Lithuanian Parliament) in the 2020–2024 term, serving from November 13, 2020 to November 14, 2024.
As an independent parliamentarian, he belonged to the Mixed Group of the Seimas from November 13, 2020, until September 9, 2021.
After being ousted by the city council, he was reinstated as Šiauliai City Vice Mayor in early 2017 through a court-mediated settlement by Mayor Artūras Visockas.
He also joined the Seimas Ethics and Procedures Commission as a member in December 2024.
As of the 2024 Seimas, he is a member of the State Administration and Local Government Committee.
In the 2024 Seimas elections, Griškevičius defeated basketball coach Antanas Sireika in the Saulės constituency runoff, receiving 7,222 votes (57.69%) to Sireika’s 5,297 (42.31%).
In the 2024 parliamentary elections, he again ran in the Saulės (No. 26) single-member constituency and won re-election in a runoff against Antanas Sireika. A recount of votes in that district was conducted but it did not change the outcome of Griškevičius’s victory.
In the 2024 parliamentary elections, Griškevičius was re-elected to the Seimas, having been nominated by the Democratic Union "Vardan Lietuvos" and winning again in the Saulės (No. 26) constituency.
In the October 2020 parliamentary elections, Griškevičius unseated incumbent MP Valerijus Simulik in the Saulės single-member constituency, winning in the runoff to secure his first Seimas term.
His publicly declared wealth is modest. He has never been listed among the millionaire public officials in annual disclosures, indicating that his assets remain far below that level, and there have been no reported surges in his financial status over the past decade.
He is a member of the informal Seimas group of MPs from the Šiauliai region ("Šiaulių krašto bičiulių grupė"). This group works with local institutions (like the Šiauliai Chamber of Commerce and Industry) to address regional economic issues, as evidenced by his participation in meetings concerning the impact of Chinese sanctions on Šiauliai businesses.
After parting ways with the Social Democratic Party, he formed and led a small civic organization in Šiauliai.
In February 2017, the presidium of the LSDP’s Šiauliai city branch decided to expel Griškevičius from the party after he returned to the vice-mayor position, a step also recommended by the party’s Ethics and Procedures Commission.
In July 2025, as Deputy Chairman of the Democratic Union "Vardan Lietuvos", Griškevičius criticized Prime Minister Gintautas Paluckas’s scandal for making the coalition’s work unproductive and argued that important state affairs were being pushed to the "second plan", which was unacceptable to the democrats.
He advocates for a strong state role in the economy. In a 2024 election survey (ManoBalsas), Griškevičius indicated he "completely disagrees" with the statement that the state should interfere as little as possible in the economy.
He expressed support for the idea of a state-run bank. In the same 2024 questionnaire, he answered that he rather agrees with the proposal to establish a state commercial bank in Lithuania.
He opposes cutting business taxes if it harms the state budget. In the 2024 ManoBalsas survey, he marked that he rather disagrees with reducing taxes for businesses at the expense of state budget revenue.
On January 5, 2022, he penned an op-ed titled "136 milijonai nerimo ženklų" ("136 Million Signs of Worry") on LRT’s portal, criticizing the government’s handling of Lithuania’s strained relations with China. He argued that the announced €136 million support package for businesses affected by China’s unofficial sanctions was inadequate, calling it more of a mockery than real help.
On March 6, 2021, he authored an opinion piece for LRT titled "Kodėl (ne)reikia tiesioginių merų rinkimų?" ("Why (not) have direct mayoral elections?"), reflecting on the need for direct mayor elections.
As of 2024, Griškevičius has not received any state awards or honors – none are recorded in his official biographies or public disclosures.
He is not among the wealthiest parliamentarians. While the richest Seimas members have declared assets valued in the millions of euros, Griškevičius’s own asset declarations have been relatively modest (largely reflecting his earnings from public service).
As a Member of Seimas, Griškevičius received approximately €2,100 net per month (around €3,300 gross) during 2020–2023. Following a 2024 law tying salaries to average wages, MPs’ pay roughly doubled – to about €3,800 net monthly (≈€5,800 gross) from late 2024 onward.
During his tenure as Deputy Mayor of Šiauliai (2015–2020), his gross monthly salary was on the order of roughly €1,200–€1,500 (estimated), in line with official pay scales for vicemayors in Lithuanian municipalities.
As the Secretary of Šiauliai City Council (2011–2015), Griškevičius held an administrative civil-service position with a public-sector salary (approximately around €1,000 per month at the time, based on comparable municipal roles).
